Alister's Obituary 
Alister "Al" Bowling, age 84, of Franklin, OH; went to be with his Lord on Monday July 30, 2012 at his residence. Al was born in Knott County, KY on April 28, 1928 to Granville and Mollie (Couch) Bowling. He was a veteran of the Korean War, was retired from Dayton Press following 30 years of service, worked 7 years with the Franklin City Schools and 7 years with Meals on Wheels of Warren County. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers Jack Bowling, Oneal Bowling, Max Dean Bowling, and Barjean Bowling; a great granddaughter Shelby Lynn Bowling. Al is survived by his wife of 57 years Nell (Smith) Bowling; children Jeff Bowling, a daughter Jean Knott; grandchildren Steve Bowling and wife Heidi, Molly Knott, Josh Smalley, Jessica Bowling, great grandchildren Jake Bowling, Skylar and Brandon Knott, Hunter and Hayden Smalley; 2 brothers Rettig Bowling and Zollie Bowling and his wife Brenda. Funeral services are Friday August 3, 2012 at 10am at Anderson Funeral Home 1357 E. 2nd St Franklin, OH with Pastor Clifton Powers and Pastor Vester Smith officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Wilmington. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
Memories of Alister
BROTHER BOWLING was a wonderful servant for the Lord, he will be missed by all his friends, in church and outside of church. Our family David, Linda, Tina & David love him & Sister Nell. We all will be praying for all of you. God Bless You with the sad days ahead.
He will be missed by all of us. I can still remember sneaking nutty buddys out of the cabinet when we were younger. Steve, we will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. If you need anything don't hesitate to call. love you!

Kanda and I are saddened to hear of Al's passing as we both have good memories of him and Nell and how good they were to us as a young married couple.
Take comfort in knowing that Al's place in heaven has been reserved for a long time and right now a lot of folks are rejoicing now that he has entered God's kingdom!
