Charles's Obituary 
Charles A. Callahan, age 76, of Hillsboro, OH and formerly of Franklin, OH; passed away on Thursday July 12, 2012 at Laurels of Hillsboro. Charles was born in Franklin, OH on July, 1, 1936 to Clifford and Octava (Kindred) Callahan. Charles was a self-employed jeweler and watchmaker and taught diamond setting and goldsmithing with E.J. Swigart Co. in Cincinnati. He was a member of the Ohio Watchmakers Association, Ohio Gun Collectors Association, Highland County Coon Hunters, life member of American Trap Shooters, National Muzzle Loaders, and a past member of the Masonic Lodge in Franklin for fifty years. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Harold, and two infant siblings Gary and Margaret Sue. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Barbara (Taylor) Callahan; children Beth Ann and husband Kenneth Young, Catherine Sue Hepburn; three grandchildren Rebekah, Rachael, and Seth; a brother Robert Callahan and wife Helen. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Boyd Cancer Center. My deepest condolences to the family. I didn't know Charlie very well. I spent a week at E.J Sweigert in one of his classes. That week changed my life! Charlie had a way of making jewelry repair come alive! His knowlege of the trade and his humor and patience were inspiring. I took his class in 1982 and I have been a bench jeweler ever since. Thank you Charlie. May you rest in peace.

Although I did not know Charles very well I did know his daughter Catherine. She allways had great story to tell about her father and his life's work.I live in New Hampshire and I know Charles loved it here. I will remeber Charles every time I use the 2 pistols I acquired from him through his daughter Cathy.
